MEDICAL WATCH:
OF Chris Young (upper respiratory infection) wasn't in the lineup on April 20. He's day to day. LHP Doug Davis (thyroid cancer) went on the 15-day disabled list April 9. He had surgery April 10, and he could be back in mid- to late May.
C Miguel Montero (fractured right index finger) opened the season on the 15-day disabled list because the injury he suffered in winter ball in Venezuela has been slow to heal. He began playing in extended spring training in early April.
1B/3B Chad Tracy (microfracture surgery on right knee in September 2007) opened the season on the 15-day disabled list. Manager Bob Melvin said he hopes Tracy will be available around May 1.
