Arizona puts Webb on DL, recalls Korecky
PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Diamondbacks have put Brandon Webb on the 15-day disabled list due to tightness in his pitching shoulder.

Monday's move is retroactive to April 7, the day after Webb gave up six runs in four innings on opening day against Colorado.

To fill the roster spot, the Diamondbacks recalled righthander Bobby Korecky from Triple-A Reno. Korecky will pitch out of the bullpen.

Yusmeiro Petit took Webb's turn in the rotation on Saturday.

Webb's only other trip to the disabled list as a major leaguer came in 2003, his rookie season, when Webb missed 15 days with right elbow tendinitis.

Webb says he started feeling tightness in the back of his shoulder during his last spring training start. The Diamondbacks are optimistic that Webb will return soon, but they have no schedule for him to resume throwing.

"He won't throw for a few days," Arizona manager Bob Melvin said. "I'm not sure when he's going to play catch next."

Webb won the 2006 NL Cy Young and was runner-up the last two years. He has been Arizona's workhorse since 2004, pitching at least 208 innings in each of the past five seasons.
