--OF Gerardo Parra made his second start in his second game in the major leagues and played a big part in the D-backs' two-run first inning, tripling in 2B Felipe Lopez and scoring on a groundout by OF Justin Upton. Parra has a triple and a homer -- both in the first inning -- of his two starts. He played left field Friday after starting in center against Cincinnati on Wednesday.
--LHP Doug Davis made his fifth quality start of the season Friday while returning to the scene of his most emotional victory last year, when he beat Atlanta, 11-1, in Turner Field on May 23. Davis gave up five hits and one run in seven innings in his first game back after having a cancerous thyroid removed April 10. --RHP Brandon Webb, who has not pitched since opening day because of shoulder soreness, played a light game of catch at Turner Field on Friday. It was the first time he had thrown a baseball since April 24, when he was shut down after continued shoulder soreness. Webb is tentatively scheduled to return in early June, although an exact date has not been defined.
MEDICAL WATCH:
SS Stephen Drew (left hamstring strain) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 25. He began a rehab assignment with Class AAA Reno on May 10, and he was activated May 12. He returned to the starting lineup May 13.
OF/1B Conor Jackson (illness) went on the 15-day disabled list May 12. He underwent a series of tests May 13, but the results weren't immediately available.
RHP Yusmeiro Petit (right shoulder strain) went on the 15-day disabled list May 9.
1B Tony Clark (strained ligament in right hand) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 5.
RHP Tom Gordon (torn left hamstring) went on the 15-day disabled list May 4.
RHP Brandon Webb (right shoulder bursitis) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 7. He threw a bullpen session April 21 but missed a session April 24 and was shut down. Webb is likely out until June.
