--OF Gerardo Parra became the second player in franchise history to homer in his first career at-bat Wednesday. OF Alex Cabrera was the first, homering on June 26, 2000, against Houston. Both firsts came at Chase Field. Cabrera hit five homers in 80 at-bats in his only season with the D-backs before beginning a long career in the Japanese leagues.
MEDICAL WATCH:
SS Stephen Drew (left hamstring strain) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 25. He began a rehab assignment with Class AAA Reno on May 10, and he was activated May 12. He returned to the starting lineup May 13.
OF/1B Conor Jackson (illness) went on the 15-day disabled list May 12. He underwent a series of tests May 13, but the results weren't immediately available.
RHP Yusmeiro Petit (right shoulder strain) went on the 15-day disabled list May 9.
1B Tony Clark (strained ligament in right hand) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 5.
RHP Tom Gordon (torn left hamstring) went on the 15-day disabled list May 4.
RHP Brandon Webb (right shoulder bursitis) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 7. He threw a bullpen session April 21 but missed a session April 24 and was shut down. Webb is likely out until June.
