The D-backs are beginning to get some production from OF Justin Upton, whose hitting streak reached 10 games after their split of a four-game series in Milwaukee. Now, if the rest of the outfielders would follow suit -- Chris Young ended that series with one hit in his previous 21 at-bats, Eric Byrnes was hitting .164 and Conor Jackson was at .203. The bullpen took a hit when RHP Tom Gordon was forced to leave Sunday's game with a left leg injury after a collision in a play at the plate. It came only a week after he was activated from the disabled list for the first time this season after offseason elbow surgery.
PLAYER NEWS: --OF Justin Upton has a 10-game hitting streak, during which he has four home runs, two doubles and 11 RBIs. He has gradually moved his way from the No. 8 spot in the lineup to No. 5, where he hit in the final three games of the Milwaukee series.
--SS Augie Ojeda returned to the starting lineup in the final two games of the Milwaukee series after missing the first two games with a mild groin strain. SS Stephen Drew (hamstring) is eligible to return from the disabled list May 10. SS Josh Wilson was 1-for-7 in Ojeda's place.
--OF Chris Young was 0-for-11 in the Milwaukee series, in which he did not start one game and was pinch-hit for in another. He is 5-for-39 (.128) in his career at Miller Park, where he has one homer and one RBI.
MEDICAL WATCH:
RHP Tom Gordon (left leg) left the May 3 game after a collision at home plate. He will be evaluated on May 4.
SS Augie Ojeda (groin) sat out April 30-May 1. He was back in the lineup May 2.
SS Stephen Drew (left hamstring strain) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 25.
RHP Brandon Webb (right shoulder bursitis) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 7. He threw a bullpen session April 21 but missed a session April 24 and was shut down. Webb is likely out until June.
