Arizona Diamondbacks Roster Report 2009-04-24
RHP Brandon Webb was eligible to return from the disabled list Wednesday, but he wasn't ready to come back so quickly.

--OF Eric Byrnes had his second stolen base of the season Wednesday, stealing third base standing up when he got a terrific jump off Colorado LHP Jorge De La Rosa. "You have to get them when you can," said Byrnes, the 11th player in major league history to have 20 homers and 50 stolen bases in the same season when he did it in 2007. Byrnes is hitting .152 with two homers this year while playing in 12 of the first 15 games.

--3B Mark Reynolds, elevated to the cleanup spot when the Diamondbacks faced left-handers in the final two games of the Colorado series, has reached base via hit or walk in all 12 of his starts. He has four home runs and eight RBIs in his last eight games. He is hitting .292 and is tied for the team lead with nine RBIs.

--C Chris Snyder's single in the seventh inning Wednesday broke an 0-for-16 slump. Snyder, who signed a three-year, $14.25 million contract extension in the offseason, is 3-for-26 (.115) with no homers and one RBI. He has one extra-base hit, a double.

--INF Augie Ojeda was 6-for-18 with two doubles and a bunt single while filling in for SS Stephen Drew, who missed four consecutive games with a hamstring injury before returning Wednesday. Ojeda scored two runs and drove in one while hitting at the top of the order, and the D-backs won two of his four starts. He was back in his super-sub role Wednesday, entering to play third base in a ninth-inning double switch and handling a hard grounder to start a game-ending forceout.

RHP Brandon Webb (right shoulder bursitis) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 7. He threw a bullpen session April 21, and he will do so again April 24 before possibly making a rehab start.

RHP Tom Gordon (right elbow surgery in October 2008) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27. He began a rehab assignment with Class AAA Reno on April 19, and he could return to the Diamondbacks by May 1.
