--RHP Tom Gordon (elbow) pitched two scoreless innings in his second rehab appearance for Class AAA Reno on Tuesday, giving up three singles and two walks. He is expected to make at least one more rehab assignment before joining the D-backs bullpen, manager Bob Melvin said, who added, "but we can sure use him."

--1B Conor Jackson, who broke an 0-for-14 slump with an RBI single Tuesday, drove in the second run of a two-run seventh inning Wednesday with a bases-loaded walk. It was a 10-pitch at-bat. "That was a great at-bat," Melvin said. "It seems like his body language in the batter's box is a lot better now." Jackson is hitting .196, although he is tied for the team lead with nine RBIs.

--RHP Brandon Webb (shoulder) played catch in the outfield before Wednesday's game and reported no residual effects from his 33-pitch bullpen session Tuesday. He is to throw a second bullpen session Friday, then will face hitters at least once before being activated from the disabled list.

MEDICAL WATCH:

SS Stephen Drew (sore left hamstring) left the April 17 game and didn't play April 18-20. He appeared as a pinch hitter April 21, and he started April 22.

RHP Brandon Webb (right shoulder bursitis) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 7. He threw a bullpen session April 21, and he will do so again April 24 before possibly making a rehab start.

RHP Tom Gordon (right elbow surgery in October 2008) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27. He began a rehab assignment with Class AAA Reno on April 19, and he could return to the Diamondbacks by May 1.
