--OF Adam Dunn had two hits Wednesday and has reached base in 13 of his 15 games with the D-backs since being acquired from Cincinnati on Aug. 11. He is hitting .277 and has walked 19 times for a .485 on-base percentage. He has hit cleanup in all 15 games, during which the D-backs have scored 78 runs.
--OF Eric Byrnes (left hamstring) took live batting practice the final two days of the D-Backs' trip to San Diego but remains unlikely to return this season while undergoing rehabilitation for a 98 percent tear of his left hamstring. Byrnes still has not run or done agility drills.
--The D-backs have led or been tied for the NL West lead since April 6, and they owe their edge to a 34-19 record within the division. Their division winning percentage (.642) is the best among any major league teams. They play 19 of their final 29 games inside the division.
BY THE NUMBERS: 20 -- Brandon Webb is on track to become the first National League pitcher to win 20 games since Chris Carpenter (Cardinals), Roy Oswalt (Astros) and Dontrelle Willis (Marlins) did so in 2005.
