--RHP Micah Owings had to leave Friday's game in the fifth inning after suffering what he called a lower back strain while covering first base in the fourth. 2B Orlando Hudson fielded a ball that was deflected by 1B Chad Tracy and threw to Owings covering first, and Owings was injured while stretching to receive the ball.
--The D-backs have scored four runs on 22 hits in four games at Dolphin Stadium this season, losing all four. The D-backs have lost by scores of 3-2, 3-1, 4-0 and 3-1 while going 2-for-24 with runners in scoring position. Both hits were singles, and neither drove in a run. --2B Orlando Hudson has hit safely in 11 of the last 16 games, going 22-for-67 (.328), and drove in the D-backs' only run Friday with a sacrifice fly. Hudson left the game in a double switch in the eighth inning after fouling a ball off his lower right leg for the third time in seven games.
--RHP Micah Owings is 0-5 in his last six starts and has not won since beating Atlanta on May 25. He has given up 27 earned runs in his last 29 1/3 innings. "It's not a time frame for us to feel sorry for ourselves," Owings said. "It's time for us to dig a little deeper and pick each other up and keep working."
--1B Conor Jackson, who entered the game in a double switch, stole second base for the second time in three games Friday to take the team lead with six steals. He has been caught once.
