Arizona Diamondbacks Notes, Quotes 2009-04-30
--The D-backs tied a franchise record when they received five walks in the seventh inning Wednesday, one off Cubs starter Ryan Dempster and four off reliever Carlos Marmol. One was intentional. They received five walks in an inning Oct. 2, 1999, at San Diego and again June 8, 2001, at Kansas City. Both Jackson and 3B Mark Reynolds walked with the bases loaded Wednesday.

--The Diamondbacks had their first two-game winning streak of the season broken Tuesday in an 11-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs after beating San Francisco on Sunday and the Cubs on Monday. It was the longest stretch in franchise history before recording consecutive victories to open a season. The expansion 1998 D-backs did not win two straight until games 16 and 17.

--The D-backs' five stolen bases Monday tied for the third most in a game in franchise history. They set the franchise mark of seven in a 4-3 loss to the New York Mets on May 19, 2000, when SS Tony Womack set the team record with four in one game. The D-backs had six steals in an 8-4 victory over Atlanta on Aug. 3, 2000, and last stole five on Sept. 4, 2007, a 9-1 victory over San Diego.

BY THE NUMBERS: .205 -- The D-backs' batting average with runners in scoring position, the lowest in the NL through April 26.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "Obviously, I'm not real happy and it's not what we wanted to hear. Dr. (Michael) Lee said it was a three-to-six-week deal whenever you strain your shoulder. We went on the three-week side of it first and now we are going to go with the six-week side of it." -- RHP Brandon Webb, on his extended absence because of a shoulder injury.
