Outfielder Chris Young has played every inning of the Diamondbacks' last 105 games entering a home series that begins Tuesday against San Diego, and that is just the way he wants it.

"It doesn't bother me. I'm young. I can still go every day," said Young, who has not missed an inning since his last day off, April 20 in San Diego.

"I'm glad they are giving me the opportunity. The more you play, the better you are going to get. It's a learning process for me right now."

Young, 24, has set career highs with 35 doubles and four triples, and he is one big game short of his career high in RBIs. He has 65 after getting 68 last season.

With home runs in the first two games of the Houston series, Young has 17, and is on pace to finish with 22 after hitting 32 last season.

"My home runs are down, but my doubles are up. I'm still hitting the gaps," Young said. "I'm still trying to find ways. I'm still trying to be as productive as possible."

Young had another big series on his return to Houston last weekend, going 5-for-14 with two home runs and six RBIs in front of about 50 family members and friends. Young has four homers in six career games at Minute Maid Park, where he is 11-for-27 with a double and nine RBIs.

He ranks fifth in the major leagues in innings, first among NL outfielders.
