Upton has hit all four of his home runs and has 11 RBIs while going 13-for-35 (.371), to raise his season batting average to .268. He was hitless in his first 15 at-bats of the season and was 6-for-36 before beginning his streak April 24.
He had a 450-foot home run and a bunt single, scoring twice, in a 4-1 victory Saturday.
"Hitters are good hitters at the plate when they're not thinking about a whole lot. I think he was a little clouded for a while and working real hard. Now, he's just going up there looking or the ball and letting his ability take over," manager Bob Melvin said after the game.
Upton had struggled since last April, when he hit .340 with five homers and 15 RBIs. He hit .220 with 10 homers the rest of 2008, spending seven weeks on the disabled list with a left oblique muscle strain.
"To succeed in anything -- fielding, base running and of course hitting, you have to be aggressive and kind of let your baseball instincts take over. It's really just playing the game and finding a way to get it done," Upton said. "Part of the battle is bringing a competitive intensity to the game every day. If you can do that, a lot of times you can find a way to get it done."
BREWERS 4, DIAMONDBACKS 3: The D-backs tied a franchise record by hitting three home runs in an inning, but that was all they could muster while settling for a split of the four-game series. 3B Mark Reynolds, OF Justin Upton and C Miguel Montero hit bases-empty homers to tie the game in the seventh off Brewers RHP Dave Bush before OF Chris Duffy's bases-loaded groundout broke the tie in the eighth. Upton extended his hitting streak to 10 games.
